The free wireless connection to the internet that comes with your Kindle can help you be more productive. The Kindle allows you to check email, post to your blog, get stock quotes, check the weather, read news headlines–all kinds of little tasks that you’d rather not drag out the laptop and boot it up to accomplish.
For example, it is very easy to forward a copy of all your business mail to a GMail account and then read it on your Kindle. Once you have accessed the mobile GMail site once and logged in, you can check the “Remember me” box to make subsequent logins even easier. If you bookmark the page by clicking the menu and selecting “bookmark this page,” checking your mail is even easier.
Step One: Set up an account at GMail.
Step Two: Use the link below or the one at EduKindle Mobile to navigate to the Mobile GMail site.
Step Three: Log in and check “remember me.”
Step Four: Bookmark the page on your Kindle.

Hmmm. I just tried the mobile gmail page and the regular gmail page and was told that each was forbidden. Has Amazon done something to prevent this use?

Does anyone know of any schools / districts who have distributed Kindles to students as a learning tool? I am also interested in any publishing companies who are planning on offering their textbooks for purchase on Kindles. Any leads you can provide are much appreciated.
My school received 8 kindles in a grant. We are curently trying to figure out how to use them with students. I had my ap biology kids take them home and had an ap prep book loaded on them and they said that they really liked having the book on the kindle. Not sure if I would trust them with kids not in my ap classes
