Update! If you like the way Kindlepedia works, give eReadUps a try. Choose multiple articles to format in a single book!

eReadUps Header

Kindlepedia is your tool to format articles from Wikipedia to read on your Kindle – or any other ereader that supports Mobipocket files. Here’s how it works:

1. Find the article that you are interested in formatting by searching Wikipedia, copy the URL of the article, and paste it into the box below (You can type a search term into the Kindlepedia search box below but Kindlepedia doesn’t always know which article you want)

2. Click the “Create Kindle Book” button

3. Once the file is fetched and formatted, you can download the file by clicking the download button

4. When the Kindle book file is saved to your computer, just attach your Kindle to the computer with the USB cord and drag the Kindle book into the “documents” folder on your Kindle and it will appear in your menu listing of books

Support for other languages: Try pasting a Wikipedia URL from the Dutch Wikipedia (nl.wikipedia.org) or the Spanish Wikipedia (es.wikipedia.org)–Kindlepedia supports article creation in these and many other languages as well!

is this working? When I get the download button and click on it, I just get a “page not found” screen.

Sorry–we have a little hiccup–should be fixed soon!

I love this but it doesn’t seem to work with French,
    for example
    http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/André_Martinet
    is there a workaround?

Jennifer, thanks for the alert. I am not sure why the engine is not accepting the material from the French Wikipedia. I thought it was the accents or something but that is not it. I will investigate and see if we can get that fixed!

Tried “http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celine_Dion” and got “An error occured. 1266687089″.

Hi Michael, not sure how that happened. I entered “Celine Dion” without all the URL stuff and it built fine. Here is the book: Celine Dion. Give the search a try at http://www.ereadups.com and you can include up to three articles in your book.

Still investigating, but the accent over the “e” does have something to do with the problem. Again, sorry for the inconvenience. I did the search on the terms “andre martinet” at http://www.ereadups.com and got a result in French and English. Here is the article: Andre Martinet.

Hmmm, tried the URL for the Celine Dion article and it worked fine this time. Thanks!

Hi. Any plans on having it working for Wikitravel or so?
    Thanks. Great job!

Hi Manuel, we have a tool at eReadups.com that includes Wikitravel in the results. Glad you like Kindlepedia! Will
